Empowering

After I joined the ".. .." team,
it felt like a surreal dream.
Working for the solution,
maintaining human evolution.

But in the general absence of care,
rampant denial of responsibility
despite apparent acts of stupidity,
it all turned into a silly nightmare.

Pointing out the hypocrisy
in the obvious discrepancy
between noble words and foolish action
turned out be an unwanted distraction.

So I can only put my trust into the land,
as another of my stories comes to an end.

Where's the conscious evolution of society?

I've been on this planet for nearly half a century, always curious about learning new things and connecting to people in all kind of life circumstances. I spend a significant amount of time exploring consciousness, and embarked on the challenging path to find out who and what I am.

Just like everyone and everything around us, I'm an expression of universal consciousness, a crystal in Indra's net. I learned that intentions have the power to change situations for the better, and also that intentions and actions can go into entirely different directions.

I agree with Douglas Adams, and consider the population of this planet as mostly harmless. I met some less harmless people, but much less of them roam the streets, offices, shopping centres, factories and homes than the average harmless human. The existence of violent, harmful people reminds the majority of the choice each of us can make in life: To strive for peaceful cooperation or to 'win' the competition among false egos.

Our current society shows little interest in raising self-determined, cooperative individuals capable of making their own choices. Education systems prefer obedient conformists, easily controllable by fear and victimisation. Once we get sufficiently inculcated with the big lie 'us vs them', we get numbed to our own nature.

If we allow ourself to let go of our cultural programming, it becomes easy to experience that "We're all in it together". The age of global communication shrunk our planet and raised awareness about the interconnectedness of the diverse cultures, and all life on Earth. We wake up the fact that the destruction of Amazon rain forests, overfishing, monoculture, pollution and war endanger the survival of our entire species. The war waged against nature will see nature as winner, while many species, including our own, will lose.

As every human came out of nature, giving our species a special status in it sounds utterly ridiculous. Everything changes, yet the scale of change imposed on this planet by humanity in the last century alone feels like 'modern civilisation' has pushed the self-destruct button. Modern society sacrifices human life, eco-systems and other species for the sake of the 'economic system'.

While our planet offers abundant resources to feed and shelter everyone to high standards, our economic system bases on the misconception of scarcity. Our economic system thrives on scarcity, and thus needs to creates it systematically. The idea of 'eternal growth' makes up the second elementary misconception of the economic system.

In essence, we could easily say that the economic system intents an eternal growth of scarcity for optimal performance. The meme of egalitarianism doesn't exist in economic theory, only winner and losers. The promise that everyone can win the economic game distracts from the embedded injustice in it.

The global economic system didn't develop organically or spontaneously. A cabal of interested parties spreads it around the globe, utilising genocide towards indigenous people where ever they find them. Societies outside the global economic paradigm mean no market opportunity, so stealing their land and killing them for profit means acting in the interest of 'shareholder values'.

The biggest promoters of the economic system belong to the minority of winners in it. They don't win because the play better, but because they can and do rig the game in their favour. The bank bailout in 2008 poses a brilliant example for this, which got copied plenty of times since then.

Sorry for bothering you with the 'economy'. Many people still believe that government shapes society and directs it, and has some control over banks and corporations. Modern governments have degenerated to mere PR agencies selling corporate interests disguised with empty promises or general fear mongering.

The Australian government spends about $3 billion for its unjust treatment of refugees in its offshore camps. This money comes from the taxpayer (mere individuals, mainly from the non-game rigging part of the population), and goes to multinational corporations like Serco and G4S, and to other corrupt governments.

Who wins, who loses this match of the economic game with the government as referee? The usual suspects. The old game of redistribution of wealth from the bottom to the top grows scarcity among larger and larger parts of the population. Unprofitable human life can be warehoused for a profit, the economic system happily demonstrates its psychopathic nature.

Meanwhile, governments start more openly to defend corporate interests against the mandate of their population. The Queensland government considers 'environmental activism' a crime punishable more severe than owning an unregistered gun. Does it really act in the interest of its people?

Mandating governments to reign in corporations is like telling a dog what its owner should do. Politicians can't be held accountable even for crimes against humanity, which crudely hide beyond a veil of 'national security'. While governments act more and more paranoid and in secret, business secrets seem guarded even more.

The winners of economic game and their confederates in government act out of self-interest, and have taken environmental destruction to a threatening level. If society hangs on to the need to keep the current systems of economy and governance alive, despite them having failed to provide a fair share of the abundant bounty of our planet, then a collapse of civilisation, much worse than the fall of the Roman Empire, seems inevitable.

The oceans overfished, old growth forests cleared, coral reefs declining, increased weather extremes indicate that 'doing what's good for the economy' yields terrible consequences for life on this planet. The cleanup of the mess created by clinging to a system of destruction will keep humanity busy for a while.

We can co-inhabit this planet without sacrificing ethics or destroying our resources in the process. Many people have explored sustainable ways to generate energy, build houses, grow food, utilise water and deal with human waste.

We need a shift of consciousness. Do we want to continue to support a system which grows scarcity, or do we want a build a system which shares the abundance of this planet with everyone?

In the beginning

Life remains a big mystery for all involved. How did we get here, how did it all begin and where does it all lead to? Many people asked these questions, and entire societies emerged depending on the answers given. While current predominantly accepted answer to these big questions seem simple, they might reflect an unhealthy tunnel vision.

How did we get here? Coincidence. The universe acts like a giant quantum computer, pre-programmed with rule sets which randomly create systems of higher complexity. Basically Newton's clockwork universe revisited, full of inevitability and determinism.

How did it all begin? Big Bang. The strictly causal universe popped out of less than nothing into existence, without cause. While everything within universe seems to follow causal relationships, universe itself lacks any cause. In other words: The existence of universe, or its origin, kind of breaks the entire rule set valid within universe.

Where does it all lead to? Entropy. Everything deteriorates, transform from order into chaos. The entire universe will run out of fuel, and collapse in itself, popping as mysteriously and inexplicable out of existence as it emerged.

This big picture of things diminishes our existence, our individuality and our consciousness to nothing but an inevitable by-product of rule-based processes beyond our intentional influence. While this concept of reality has been promoted and believed lots, it doesn't really reflect what happens.

The three questions seem to go to the core of life, the universe and everything, yet from a perspective making our existence the centre of importance of the whole universe. These questions address the 'objects' of our thinking, without addressing thinking/observing itself.

This virtual conversation could not take place without consciousness. Any word, any thought just attempts to describe the experiences available to consciousness. Please allow yourself for a moment or two to live without a concise definition of consciousness, and trust your idea of it (at least as long as you believe that you're endowed with it).

Let me now propose 'consciousness' as primary 'substance' of our universe. Like the ocean consists of water molecules, consciousness consists of 'spirit' molecules, distinct yet closely linked. Our 'self', us being represents one droplet in the ocean of consciousness. Matter as we know it emerges as consequence of consciousness, never as its cause.

It might take a bit of contemplation to shift our perspective from materialistic, deterministic object based thinking towards process-focussed thinking. The word consciousness describes a process, yet the english language lacks the precision of specific terms for different states of this process. Dhyana, samadhi, satori can not be properly translated into the language of cultures which subscribed to materialistic fundamentalism.

The western culture replaced the quest for liberation, for moksha, with the illusion of personal liberty. Like in many areas, some cleverly installed maya (illusion) suggests already 'being there', no need to move deliberately into the direction of love, compassion and understanding. The Western culture has ostensibly reached the level of enlightenment about 2 centuries ago. No worries, mate, we totally got it.

If you grew up in a culture claiming to have descended from an 'enlightened' culture, it's easy to assume that the systems in place reflect enlightened ideas. Unfortunately, the existing systems of governance and economy fail to provide access for everyone to the abundance of resources our planet offers. The firm believe that the current world is the best possible, after a quasi linear development to excellence, hinders participation in individual growth and evolution of society.

From a process-focussed perspective, change of structures of society appears natural and inevitable. The very same evolving structures have rather quality of static snapshots, gradually adjusted towards more 'efficiency' when seen from a materialistic-deterministic perspective. Considering the lack of success in making this planet work for 100% of humanity using the current systems of society, restructuring society in radical new (old) ways seems the next potential evolutionary leap.

Before I leap to far ahead, I'd like to step back a bit to introduce my understanding of the process of evolution. Individual systems combine with other other systems towards higher complexity and diversity in order to succeed coexisting within an environment. From one-cellular beings via multicellular life forms evolution increased complexity and diversity of the biosphere of Mother Earth.

As an ongoing process on all levels of life and consciousness, comparing evolution to a race to the top, with humanity as its most important outcome, makes only little sense.  Everything permanently co-evolves. Humanity's attack on biodiversity tears holes in the web of life which endanger its own existence. The temporary madness in global human interaction, war, pollution, starvation only paves the path to a massive fall of so-called civilisation.

Unless we decide to organise our support systems in ways that work for 100% of humanity, to consciously evolve our communities and ourself, we have little chance to avoid witnessing the empire falling, and taking many with it. Understanding evolution as on-going process, and not merely as propaganda tool to justify a culture of domination, can facilitate shaping our evolution of society without creating unnecessary suffering.

Heart-ripping ego-trippin

My invite to a cosmic dance
was greeted with a fighting stance
Your ego runs again the show
so I can only let you go.

When we were acting from the heart,
we had some really amazing start.
Tuning into the flow wasn't hard,
while enjoying love, life and art.

My love for you is still boundless,
yet it seems futile to address
joining our path to wholeness -
so far it produced quite a mess.

Your fierce reaction posed a real test,

I still continue to wish you all the best.

Suchness

If you choose a life from the shelf
you'll block the path to your true self.
Life offers so much more variety,
than just to function in society.

Yet when your ego becomes your master,
life easily turns into a disaster.
The game of craving and aversion
prevents healthy energy conversion.

Once you tame that fearsome hungry beast
you will find true peace, at least.
You can stop swimming against the stream,
turning the re-occurring nightmare into a dream.

Don't be afraid to seek your art of living,
and life becomes the gift that keeps on giving.

To the moon!

Only a short while ago, December 6th 2013, the Dogecoin was unleashed into the shark pool of the economy. At this time of history, 1 Bitcoin hovered around the $1000 mark, with a market capitalisation of roughly one billion USD. Our current global economic system favours greed and recklessness, mainly due to its dependence on central bank money.

Cryptocoins can't eliminate greed from the equation. Greed certainly contributed to the withdrawal of a billion dollar from the corporatist market, with its rigged rules. But the origin of it, mining, creates a different set of values attached to it.

While you might find someone 'lending' you bitcoins or any other altcoin, they cannot lend it into existence, like it's the current practice in most countries. The definition of the bitcoin limits the amount to 21 million coins, some of which might already have entered a digital nirvana.

Just like cash in a wallet, you might lose your cryptocoins if you're not careful. It takes a bit of getting used to exchange digital money, and that slows down the acceptance of a new, fair monetary tool.

The bitcoin and litecoin communities have a bit of a bad reputation when it comes to mutual support and general kindness. Dogecoin has changed the scene by creating a community where giving, sharing and mutual support define its standards.

That doesn't prevent scammers to prey on the innocent. Yet the currently low exchange rate means before you collect so many dogecoins that their loss would really hurt you had enough opportunity to familiarise yourself how to safely engage with cryptocoins.

In first place, the dogecoin community seems more like a fun-based education institution, going through a collective learning process. This happens in a light-hearted manner, united by the idea to go to the moon with dogecoin.

It needed an ecosystem of cryptocurrencies to create an economical system which potentially can sustain itself. The value of each currency depends on the community which mines and uses it. One advantage remains: You get the luxury of 'electronic' banking, albeit a bit clumsy at the moment, without any more bank involved.

Triple trouble / Alexithymia

You wished me into your life,
shortly allowing us both to thrive.
Two souls connected by touch
which soon became too much.

I knew I could only lose
by giving you freedom to choose
to decide with your mind or soul
I wanted you whole, and lost all
.
I saw you shedding some tears,
while submitting to your fears.
I planted seeds of freedom in you,
would've loved be around for harvest, too.

The mix of cheap wine and deep sorrow
now has me waiting for a better tomorrow.

Sleepless night

Your life seems like a battle for control,
there's a fight against yourself inside -
you know that fight is just not right
and asked for help to become more whole.

We were mutually attracted,
and let our defences go
connected into effortless flow -
but very soon got distracted.

Control returned with a vengeance
and demanded plenty of distance.
The old ways came back and did much
to prevent more exposure to healing touch.

The door is still open, now you decide -
No jailbreak needed, want to step outside?

Liebeskummer

Our story was too good to be true -
if only I could stop loving you!
This torturing pain could go away
and my life would again seem okay.

You brought happiness back into my life,
I'd happily have chosen you as my wife.
I had millions of things for you to give,
'cos you gave me millions of reasons to live.

Now my heart feels empty and sad,
missing the special connection we had.
I'm way to numb to start to cry
I just know that I'm ready to die.

Our story was meant to last,
can't believe it ended so fast.

See you in the next life

When we first met,
time didn't seem to exist.
The connection we had
was sheer impossible to resist.

I dared to love again,
couldn't fathom my luck.
I forgot all the pain
which until then had struck.

When you said good bye,
I didn't go mad.
When I saw you cry,
I still felt incredibly sad.

It was over before it truly began
the end hit me just like a van.

Interim

There's some shadows of the past
which seem to want to last,
fuelling again the futile fight
for what's wrong and what's right.

The straight gait becomes a sway,
won't those shadows go away?
Won't there be eternal laughter
of being happily ever after?

One step forward, two steps back -
is it really the right kind of track?
For as long as you follow the flow
your intuition guides you where to go.

Yet for each thing you've been shown
another million things remain unknown.

Warm and windy winter day with QFA63

Lineclouds appearing in the sky,
creating clouds not wet but dry,
you can watch them disappearing
to disguise the trace of geo-engineering.

Soon after witnessing another blaze
they melt into the typical white haze
that cover our skies once bright blue,
and prevents the sun from reaching you.

Certainly, that can't bring any harm?
It's just a little bit unnaturally warm,
bees and many trees are slowly dying,

but the powers that be wouldn't be lying?

Wake up to the world of today,

trust me, everything is okay.

There's no place like home

All that we need exists abundant,
yet I still feel a bit redundant.
Maybe I just shouldn't care
about those unable to share fair.

The universe will be the provider
of the experiences I need to grow,
so I learn to connect into the flow
and cease acting as the decider.

All roads lead to Rome -
as long as I keep travelling
fate continues its unravelling
to find a place called home.

The waiting will find its end,
once I find some helping hand.

Rainy day in June

My future seems uncertain like never before,
and my brain and bones feel pretty sore.
I love myself just when hating me
so tired of the game of wait and see.

All of my ambitious aspiration
has turned into bouts of desperation
while I acquired much more unity
I lack the sense of community.

A single cell of a large organism
that drifts one more time into fascism
I wonder - am I cancer or cure?

But I never can be sure,
how to play the game of life,
for as long as I survive.

No time for doubt

I decided to let go,
to dive into the flow,
to follow my heart,
for a fresh, new start.

O how i admire
those without desire
for a specific form
which fits into the norm.

Now I'm drifting,
need some uplifting.
It's freedom I won,
yet certainty is gone.

So I embrace the present
as a gift, with no resent.

One day before being homeless

Some bags of clothing are packed and ready to go, the rest of my earthly belongings waits for a pickup in a garage. I'm not looking forward to the uncomfortable back seat of my car, yet it is the only 'home' I can be certain of until I find someone giving me shelter.

I didn't really feel at home in the place I'm leaving tomorrow. How did it all begin to fall apart? When I arrived, there was still a big recliner in front of the entrance, forcing anyone willing to enter through a narrow gap. It wasn't as straight-forward to remove this obstacle, and probably the last obstacle I managed to remove collaboratively with my house mate.

I could have gotten used to the mixture of things - spices spread over various cabinets, glue and packaging in the fridge, tools in the utensil drawer, or bread in the freezer. What made my life tricky was the flux in things used on a regular basis - having found a useful item in a specific place never warranted to find it there again.

While I got 'my' room, I had to share it with someone else's belongings. If space isn't abundant, donating half of the hanging space in the wardrobe to someone not really wanting to get their stuff back, didn't make me feel comfortable at all. Especially as this someone turned out to be more nosey than I expected.

As it didn't really unpacked my things, getting ready to leave was easier than ever before. I have no idea whether I can make use of the things I want to use and how long they can remain in the damp, insecure garage, but I can't really care much.

On the one hand, there's all these things, tools, memorabilia, books, and on other hand there's my sanity. It's the second time I chose to live out of convenience with someone not wanting to live with me. I got seriously depressed after the first time, and I see similar things emerging now.

What's the pattern here? Living with someone having problems with their life, but no willingness to change. Offering help, without it being requested. However, I know now that I can facilitate change in people willing to change, which adds a different kind of frustration to the situation.

Nevertheless, I have more urgent things to care about. I haven't heard back from the guy that rear-ended my car, I still have no idea when I will have a space as shelter again, I'm running out of money, and haven't figured out how to earn some money while being a nomad.

It's hard to maintain equanimity when facing a situation where elementary needs are no longer met. I know that my situation could be much worse, yet that thought doesn't spend much solace. I can only trust that I'm an arrow being pulled back, before I get released with full force, right onto the target.

I'm a refugee from a country that has given up its sovereignty to an unelected banking consortium, with no idea of individual freedom left or even promised. But as hardly anyone on this continent cares, people react rather hostile to the knowledge of my 'legal' situation.

I leaned out of the window, and now need to learn to fly so that I don't just plummet  to the ground. Having no bed for tomorrow, and hardly anyone whose hospitality I want to stretch, that doesn't feel too comforting. It was okay to spend a night or two in a car before, but it's not really a practical way for something that deserves the name home. My comfort zone of having shelter is gone.

As my car is pretty wrecked, and as there are some phoney laws prohibiting sleeping in a car, I guess I'll have to move around a lot. Which contradicts my dislike for driving, especially for no good reason. Instead of firmly establishing myself in a community, any community, I now have to fend for myself on a daily basis for the essentials.

Only if I find a new place to live, shared with others, I will find out what lessons I could have learned from this crazy times in Frankston. It's easy to drop even lower - so far I'm just homeless, not hungry, with some money to feed myself and for petrol. Yet having no home isn't too ideal to do my work, or any odd job for that matter.

I learned to give nourishment to the souls of others, and I truly enjoy doing so. As yet, this hasn't me provided with a livelihood. My own soul is yearning for healing, and I know I can heal myself by doing my work…. which means I need to work enough to sustain myself.

Don't worry, be happy. I expected the silver lining for so long, but I didn't encounter much of it in the last few years. And I got tired of the misperception of being alone in this challenge… I totally want to join some collective to go through life till its over. Don't worry, be happy.

So what's next? The big unknown. Total trust in universe. Sink or swim. After lots of domestic drama it's time for comedy. Happiness begins within, although the environment helps a lot to maintain it. I'm balancing a cliff face, with desperation lurking beyond me...

Midweek blues

O what a day
I'd like to say hooray,
but I don't know why
I feel I need to cry.

But the tears won't flow,
as I know I have to go,
I just don't know where,
and I can't stop to care.

I'm in a prison of some kind,
most likely of my mind,
it seems like a battlefield
I'm wandering without a shield.

Where's all the magic,
my life seems so tragic.

Just above rock bottom

While looking for the universal flow,
I hit an entirely absolute low.
My mind is racing, my muscles shaking,
I arrived at a point of breaking.

I wish I knew some magic trick
to bring back peace and love
yet I feel way too sick
to trust in help from above.

While the world keeps spinning
I can only dream of winning
back my trust in community.

While the birds are singing
my ears keep ringing,
waiting for a new opportunity.

Lonely peace maker

My imagination is running wild,
am I listening to my inner child?
My energy levels were soaring
yet I missed out scoring.

Instead I was presented a weird fight,
which robbed me much of a good night.
Great expectations went down the drain
and again I feel liking getting insane.

The universe pushes everything into place,
and I cannot at all influence the pace
of any event's evolution,
let alone that of a revolution.

If only I had known
the perils of the unknown.

Exponential growth

During some photoshop explorations, I came across a structure which reminded me a digital storage unit. It's easy to imagine either the central 'square' as actual bit, or the four oval shapes in red. Each of the ovals could have an on/off information (red/green), or even store an entire byte of information in colour coding (black, white, red, yellow, blue, green, orange, purple).

I called the structure quadbit, and played with the idea of putting more of them in the same space.

A simple process of multiplying by four started.

1024 of the same

16 K

64K

1M

It doesn't take long to reach a million units, doubling two dimensions and halving another with each step. We still can do with more examples to embody the idea of exponential growth.
